I hope all of you are having a great week so far!
Last month I was in Los Angeles for work and had a few extra days to do some other things that had been on my list to do when I was in town. One of them at the top: making a trip to Catalina, an island about 45 minutes off the coast in southern California (think Newport area, and then off to the West!). I had only been once before, back when I was twenty... and I remember it feeling so magical! It only ended up taking me eight years but I finally made it back!
I had forgotten how COMPLETELY MAGICAL Catalina Island is! From the moment I stepped off the boat, I was in Heaven! It's almost as if you feel you've been transported to somewhere in another part of the world (just one of the many reasons why I love the island!). We ended up having a full day of wandering, enjoying great food, and soaking in the sunshine! It was such a great day trip, I can't wait to go back!!!
A few years ago a friend from college started her own swimwear line, Kinilife. She created an amazing collection that consisted of reversible swimwear pieces.
Now let me tell you something, I have always had a challenging time finding swimsuits that fit. I have a petite frame and no real curves going on.... which means I don't normally fill out the swim pieces I did find! As most of you I'm sure know, Victoria's Secret stopped carrying their swimwear line as of this year. Which also happened to be the one place I could always find suits that fit my petite frame... so I was more than thrilled to try a new line, especially one that has personal sentiment to it!
Amie and I went to college at FIDM together and also work together for a time in college too! I am so beyond proud of her and what she has accomplished so far! If you are brave enough to take a risk on a new brand, I can promise you, you won't be disappointed! Her color palette is always appealing and the cuts of her suits are flattering on all shapes and sizes (including mine! :p)
Hope you all have a great rest of the week! Stay tuned next week for pictures from my adventures to the North Cascades in Washington!
Ps. Stay tuned later this week for my photo diary from my day trip!
